How good are toyo's in the mud?

I know everyone here loves toyo's but how good are they in the mud? i know they get great street miles but do they pull hard too?

they work better than AT's

the determining factor on their offoad performance is wheel size. Go too big of a wheel and you make the tire sidewall shorter and stiffer thats not good for offroad performance.

But for a weekend warrior 37's on 18's will get the job done (IF YOU CAN SPIN THEM)

they gum up pretty bad and turn to slicks, you will need to keep them spinnnin if you want them to clean.

just really depends on what you are doing with the truck? Weekend bogs they will work. Competion mud look somewhere else. Interco makes some of the best mud tires around

honestly i dont like 20's and 38's but it will work. id rather see 18's on 38's.

for a weekend warrior occasional bogger you will be fine.

04-08? 4x4?

they MIGHT fit but it will be close, very close i dont think anyone has tried it.

do you have any offroad shops around that would let you test fit?

what about a 38.5x14.5x20 Super Swamper Truxus MT? they look really good and get pretty go reviews from the people i know that have them.

floorit Feb 18, 2009 09:36 PM

is 14.50 ok on a 9 inch rim. i will be selling the rims ASAP and getting 10's to replace them

People will tell you no but it will be fine.

i know of 5 people 2 of which are on this site running a 15.5" wide tire on a 10" wheel and they havent had any problems

Worst case you have to run them at alittle less PSI.

I was running my TSL's at 25-28 PSI on the road. They had over 30k when i sold them.

but if you can get a 10" wide wheel definitely do. it will also improve the stance

floorit Feb 18, 2009 09:45 PM

god i never thought this would be such a tough choice. im torn between 37 mud graps, and some type of super swamper

floorit Feb 18, 2009 09:47 PM

and the cepek crushers, i can get them for $300 a tire
