biggest tire i can fit on stock height 97 f150 4x4 5.4

i need to find the biggest m/t tire i can fit on my stock height 97 f150 5.4 4x4 with NO RUB. im lookin to buy wheels and tires so yall have any size suggestions on both wheels and tires? i dont want to have to do anything but stick em on and go. i know leveling it or a small body lift would look BA but the truck holds a certain centamental value and i dont want to risk the wear and tear those things would bring. please help me out

285's aka 33's I have 265's with ton of clearence! I have my t-bars 3/4 the way up to make it level

I would crank the t-bars to level the truck out. No harm to the truck if you do it. Just remember to get an alignment. But with that you can get 35's on your stock rims. Just my .02

well the truck sits level as is. im not sure if the t bar has been cranked or not. if yall can, maybe put the biggest size possible that doesnt rub with the t bar cranked or without it cranked.

305/70-16's or 285/75-16's. If you mount them on a 10 inch wide wheel you will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance.

would a 295/70/17 or 295/75/17 treat me well

a 285/70/r17 33" clears with no rub and the the t-bars all the way up.

Yes, a 295/70-17 will fit. You can even fit a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) by using the oem wheels, but they will rub the frame slightly at full steering lock.

I'm running 285/75/R16 Mickey Tompson MTZ Tires with no problems on stock 16x7 rims.

Oh yea, it's a 1998 f150 4x4, reg. cab, 8' bed, 5.4l, with no t-bar crank up.

Here's my question, would cranking the T-bars all the way (require special parts/tools??), a 4.5" backspacing, add-a-leaf/ air helper spring(which ever is better IAYHO's), 3" or 4" lift block in the rear( if leveling is needed from front), better shocks (opinions on best welcomed), on factory sus, tuck 33-35x12.50x16's (factory 01 Screw wheels) without losing to much ride quality or rub with trimming fender wells... I'm in a TIGHT budget but want my truck to look good... If any of you have been on f150.net, a guy with the handle digman or something close, has pics of EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
Now a BL and 3" suspension lift are coming in the near future, but my tires are bald and buddy gave me these to put on... I just don't want it to look like someone stuck rugged doughnuts all up in my fenders and hear the spine tingling "khrrrreeeaaaoor" soud when I turn... Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, newbie to the forums.. Thanks for your time and any/all advice is MORE than welcomed... A 33x12.50 should have no rubbing at all.

Also no special tools required to crank them, just need the right size socket, and you'll have to get an alignment after.

Adding a block or add-a-leaf to the rear however could move the rubbing around and cause more issues up front. Best to crank the t-bars until it's level and leave it level until you have the money for something like a body lift or a 4-6" suspension lift.

Cranking the t-bars will make the ride stiffer, another reason to stop when the truck is level and not go any farther with it.

Also there is no 3" suspension lifts for your truck. The only suspension lifts that would be safe for the front end would be a 4" or bigger full drop down crossmember lift.

Awesome.. Exact answer I was looking for.. So a long as I don't get some Hellish side biters the 33x12.50's should do me justice leveling the truck with the T-bars correct...
And that's on my factory 16's..? And how stiff of a ride we talking..? Unbearable or just a little more rigidity...

:/ sry. An what about the backspaceing... I really want that wide stance type look, no quite pre runner look, but something if the sort... I thinkit looks bada** on the f150's..

If you want to abide by the recommended rim width for a given tire those larger tires require a wider rim I'm sure.
