second guessing getting 35's! HELP!
 

Alright, I am getting ready to start ordering tires for my F-150 (07 FX4 SCAB w/ 3.55 gears). I am pretty much set on the 285/65 R20 (to go on the factory rims) with a Top Gun Customz 2.5" leveling kit. I just have to ask one more time.....

Will the basically 35/11.5 20's give me a headache as far as rubbing issues OR gear problems?

I hope not, because having that leveling kit sitting in the garage is driving me bananas!

i dont know a whole lot about the newer body styles..but from what i've read you should be fine if your putting them on the stock rims. I know some of the guys with 35x12.50s have rubbed on the control arms only at full lock, but that shouldn't be a huge problem. as for gears, you should be fine as long as you dont do a lot of towing, but if you plan to go bigger in the future or tow anything heavy, you might wanna consider regearing to 4.10s or 4.56s for the sake of your tranny.

ATs or MTs? MTs have large sidelugs and are more likely to rub.

it almost seems plain stupid that they would put 3.55s in an FX4. did your truck come with a towing package? if not, thats probably why though. and you should be fine with BFG ATs, if you have any rubbing it shouldnt be major.

Yeah, it has the towing package. I am just worried that with the 35's it won't be able to get out of it's own way.

it wouldn't hurt to regear in the future, but you should be fine as long as you don't get too crazy with it. theres plenty of guys running 35's and 3.55s though, you just gotta be easy on your truck

I think you'll be OK with those tires not to have any rubbing but the performance loss will be aggravating. My truck had a hard time with the 3.73 gear's when I towed anything heavy with the 35" tires. A programmer will definitly help out.

Well I just ordered them a few minutes ago! I am already looking ou the door for the ups man! I hate waiting!

I have been running 35's and 20's for about 11,000 miles with 3.55's with no problems what so ever (except for gas!). I have even pulled a 16' trailer with about 4 quads on it about 500 miles with no problems.

My Buddy has a F-250 with 38's and 4.56's and my truck feels WAY more peppy than his.

That is great news! Your truck looks sweet! Is there a lift kit in there? That can't be just a leveling kit.
