I'm so lost with tires. I need help please!
 

To make a long story short my graduation present are new tires. My mom got a quote on OEM size Yokohama AT's for about $650. Anyways I'm gonna talk to the person cause I want to get a taller tire since I'm getting my Tbars cranked. Anyways my questions are will a 285/70/17 or 295/70/17 be absolutely fine on my stock wheels? with no abnormal wearing and no issues fitting onto the stock wheel? Also what are some good AT tires you would recommend?
So far in mind I have:
BFG AT
Nitto Terra Grappler
Yokohama AT
Toyo AT

I don't really know too much about your rims, but i am pretty sure that as long as you keep your tires rotated and aligned you shouldn't have many wear issues.

As far as the tire is concerned, you have a pretty good list. there are a few more aggressive at's out there that are great too such as the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ and the procomp extreme at, or even the **** cepek fc2.
staying with your list, the new Hankook AT is a pretty comparable tread pattern at maybe a lower price.

hey man i have a 97 f150 with stock rims and i was told that 285/75/16 are the biggest that will fit without lift but i have 285/75/16 bfg all terrains and they are mean as helll get those instead of yokahomas there about 800 bux

Those are all pretty good tires u have listed but ive only had experience with one of those and that's the toyo's and i love them. I have about 2800 miles so far and they have done excellent in dirt,deep snow,and some mud. My truck stays mostly on road with the exception of farms and logging roads which can get pretty nasty. If you have a 4x4 on OEM 17" rims, i'm pretty sure i've seen guys fit a 305/70/17 without a lift and just the tbars cranked with no problems. But if you have a 2wd i'm not sure whats the biggest you can go, i just know you can't fit those without some kinda lift.

As for tires, they're all pretty good tires. Just depends how much money you have, and which one you think looks better. And like hoosier said, just keep 'em rotated and alligned and you shouldn't really have any problems.

A 285/70-17 (33x11.50), 295/70-17 (34x12.00), 305/65-17 (33x12.50) or 305/70-17 (34x12.50) tire will fit fine on the oem wheels.

i have 285 bfg's without tbars cranked and they fit perfect.

wandell- once these wear out, can i fit 295s under there without tbars cranked?

I'm leaning towards the Bridgestone Revo ATs right now. 285/70/17

Thats what I heard. But I actually change my mind. I just found:

Nitto Tires Terra Grappler P295/70R17 R-Speed Rated 121R
for $161 a tire.

Cheaper than the Bridgestone. Is that a good deal? Should I take it?

hmm maybe it was just that my shop had a special but i only paid 150 a tire for my Revo's. I think you will be happier with a 285, after having the two the 285s just fill in the wheel wells alot nicer! Your call though

Yeah, you can fit 295's using the oem wheels

I have 295/70/17 Terra Grapplers on stock rims, but I have an 05. There's pics in my gallery if you want to take ea look. I LOVE the tires.

i know i can fit them but can i use them without cranking torsion bars?
