good AT tires for snow?
 

Most of my driving is on roadways (oye) and a little here and there off road (hunting, fishing ). I'm looking for a good AT tire that works well in snow. I've seen passing mention here and there about different brands.

Just wondering if folks could weigh in on snow traction as well as off road and road manners.

X2. I need to know the same thing. I will be getting a new set for this winter, and getting rid of these stupid rugged trail BFG's. I have heard good things about these 2 tires. Does anyone have any experience with them in the winter?

1) Cooper Discoverer ATR
2) Firestone Destination AT

I have the Toyo a/t and love them they work excellent in snow and dirt, I made it up my dirt drive way with about 5 feet of snow in it in 4 wheel drive although i couldn't go all the way around the drive way i still made it up to the front of the house:banana:

The Destination a/t's are also a great tire my buddy has them and he runs them up in New Hampshire and we drive around on unplowed roads all the time never gotten stuck:thumbsup:, He has about 25 thousand on his tires and they still look great.

My Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos are like GLUE in the snow.

i have the bfg AT, like them the best in the snow. more so than dueler revo. they are expensive, but i got 20k on a set right now with plenty of tread life left. for snow bfg. i got a light rear end(reg cab long box) and i keep it in 2 wheel peel majority of the time in the snow and in VT there is plenty of snow...i work at a ski mountain and haul snowmobile trailers, hunt in the northeast kingdom, they have proven themselves reliable, just not the best mud tire, for snow...unstoppable, watch for ice regardless of what tire you have

Firestone Destination AT's. I have them, and they're great. Super quiet and really bite through the snow. The pic in my sig is with the original OEM Americraps, but I went a little larger with the Destinations, 275/70/17.

I have about 25,000 km's on them now, and they still look great.

BFG's AT, Toyo AT or from personal experience, the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor.

I have the Firestone Desitinations on mine and I like them for winter driving. I live in Eastern Canada so I see my fair share of snow...lol.. They also drive highway smooth, only thing bad I can say is the non aggressive looks..I'd like to have a more aggressive looking tire, but all in all its a really nice tire..

I thought the Revo's were good in the snow the first winter. Then came the second winter and they sucked. This is my second set of Revo's, have't been able to get more than 25,000 out of either set. SO, one winter they are great, then they don't have enough tread for the second winter. I am seriously considering the Firestone Desitination AT's.

Ive got Goodyear Wrangler AT/Ss on my truck and they work pretty well in the snow.

BFG A/T ko's are great in the snow

how about pro comp?
 

Their website states that they are snow rated??? or something like that.

My ProComp X/AT's held up in the snow very well

Most heavy treaded tire is going to be decent in the snow or slush given there is enough tread depth for the tire to grab. That's why most of you are reporting good results with several different tires. One thing to keep in mind is that the rubber compounds of AT tires won't allow the tire to do much better than a car tire on ice or hardpack. They get hard from the temperature like the rest of them do. Only snow tires will help you there. So, don't get over-confident and end up sorry.

My pick in the snow? Revo for an all terrain tire, or The DMZ3 Blizzak.
