Pirelli 20's Flatspotting

I know I saw this thread discussed several months ago and it was debated about whether it was Pirelli or just tires. It got a little cold here in the south and I noticed last night and again this morning that I had some flatspotting going on. I just got this truck and it was my first encounter with flatspotting. I had a Tacoma for 6 years and never noticed this problem.

Is it Pirelli? Is it 20's? What do you think? Regardless, it is annoying:mad:

It's just the cheap OEM tires. I never knew a radial tire could flatspot untill Ford started using these. I'd suggest you start looking for a set of quality tires and unload the Pirelli's while they still have good tread.

I junked my stock Pirellis at 6k, I'm now running Cooper Zeon LTZ's, 305/55/20on the stock wheels and the truck sits in my driveway for a solid week sometimes and I have yet to experience any flat spotting. I had nothing but trouble with the Pirelli's. I absolutely love my LTZ's and highly recommend them or any other quality tire over the Pirelli's.

Had problems every morning with the Pirellis cold, warm, rain, shine.
No problem at all since I put on the BFG's.

I have the Pirelli ATR's on my aftermarket 20's and they seem to flatspot. The truck usually only gets driven on the weekends and I have only noticed this since it has gotten cold out. The tires only have maybe 1500 miles on them. Would more air in the tires help this?

I doubt it.

That's just a feature of some Pirelli's. The one's my 06 Mustang GT was built with did the same thing. At least it goes away after a few miles, but sure makes you wonder what Ford looks at when selecting tires.

Great looking truck! How much noise are associated with those tires? I can't imagine too much, but just asking.

stock tires are cheap

Whnever it goes below 32 F my tires flatspot, sounds and feels like driving on a washboard. My tires have only 3000 Kilometers on them.
Once they warm up a bit it goes away but the piss off is it takes by the time I get to work for them to warm up.

don't expect Ford to do anything though

None that I can hear from inside the cab. These tires are great. A bit pricey but worth it IMO.

Mine flat spot on really cold mornings. Hastn been warm enough to determine if they flat spot in all conditions.

My dad had the same problem on his 07 super cab and he put goodyears on it and that solved the problem. They are just junk tires.

I got a set on my aftermarket 20's down here in sunny Florida. No problems here. I have read that people complain about this but had no such experiences. I drive my truck about 5 miles to work and then home Monday thru Friday and then it sits the whole weekend and no problems monday morning. My old Hancooks used to do it though...

its just the cold weather us here in florida... especially south florida wont have to worry about flat spotting as much! unless you are running bias!

but we do have to worry about getting into the oven everytime we get in the truck! hahaha
