A/T Tires for 2004 FX4 OEM 275/65R18
My truck currently has 63,000 miles on the factory 275/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S, which is a load C tire. I can easily get 70,000 miles out of these tires, but winter is coming soon. Overall the OEM tire has been a good tire, but I would prefer better wet pavement performance. There seems to be a limited selection of A/T in this size. I know Goodyear makes the Silent Armor P275/65R18, but I don't believe it is a Load Range C tire. Would it be acceptable to have the Silent Armor on my 04 FX4 even though it is a weaker tire? Does anyone have any suggestions for All Terrain tires no larger than 285/65R18, in addition to the BFG T/A KO?
Thanks

I bought the 285/65/18 Toyo a/t's and love them. they are on the stock wheels with stock suspension and i couldn't be happier.
others i would recommend would be the bfg a/t's, procomp xtreme a/t's, toyo a/t's. these are all great a/t tires and you should get 40-50,000 miles out of them with proper rotations etc...

Not these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=3
These are the same OEM tire that comes on the FX4 with 18's if you don't upgrade to the load range c goodyears.

I say go with the BFG All Terrain T/A's...they're a great all around tire. I have had mine on for around 10000 miles and absolutely no regrets. They may be a little more expensive than some of the others but you will get 50,000 miles or better out of one set if you rotate them and keep them inflated properly. Plus, they are really aggressive looking; makes your truck look more mean.
