285/65/20 or 305/55/20?
The 285's fill the wheel well more and do not rub but are not as wide also BFG's seem to be my only selection for this size. The 305's are wider with alot more selection but with minor rub. I have really been looking hard at the Cooper Zeon LTZ 305/55/20 they are only $270.00 at Discount tire. What are ya'lls thoughts on this. Thanks.

I'd go with 305/55's personally.

Some people (like me) just prefer the look of a wider tire. I think it makes the truck look meaner. Narrower is better for snow, wider for mud, but you're talking a 2 cm difference (not even an inch) so I don't really see any practical reason for one over the other. Just price :beers:

Yeah, I just personally like the look of wider tires. Both will look fine.

I just did this, I went with the 285's. They fill the well better and actually make the truck sit up a little higher. I wasn't to concerned with the rubbing, but the wider tires do have a tendency to throw stones up the side of the truck. My ocd for detailing wouldn't allow me to do it........LOL
Your only problem is bfg is the only one that I could find that makes this size. I would do this again in a heartbeat, they look that good, imo of course. I just can't believe no other manufacturer makes this size. You would think the more people making it, the price would come down somewhat. |
If your truck has been leveled I would go 285/65/20, if not, then go with the 305's. I have Cooper Zeon LTZ 305/55/20 on the factory rim, my truck has not been leveled and they look perfect in the fender. On a leveled truck I personally think the 305's will look too small, the extra height of the 285 would look better. I paid $890 for my Coopers at discount tire.

Do you have a side view? I think the set-up you have is what I'm going for... I'm getting a set of OEM 20's Saturday and want some new rubber for them, but don't like the leveled look. Looks good

305s IMO
|
Raptor, do you have any rubbing issues with the 305/55R20 at the stock height?
|
i have a set of 305-55-20 coopers only used about 6000 miles for sale ......... like n ew great price.........
|
Very minor at full lock. I've got about 15k on these tires and it has not been an issue what so ever, also, the tires still look brand new, I love them!

Raptor, since you don't have a leveling kit, would I have more or less rub with my leveling kit? I just ordered a set of 305/55/20 Toyo AT's for my truck. Also, side views would be great.
