35" Tires steering wheel not straight
I have a 05 F-150 4x4 with a 2.5" as kit and 35" tires with 20" rims. Recently iv noticed that when they steering wheel is straight the truck starts going to the left side i have to keep the steerin wheel turned jus a put to the right to keep it straight. Why is this and how do i get it fixed. I had an alignment done after i put the as kit on.

I have the same exact thing. Do you have to keep the steering wheel a little turned to the right to go "straight". i wanted to know this to. I got my alignment done after my suspension lift.

Its probably just because the wheel wasn't straight when they were finalizing the alignment. Its happened to me a few times with cars over the years, I just went back and asked them to fix it.

I would go for an alignment, just like after cranking torsion bars you are supposed to. Check tire pressures too, I do that first if it pulls to one side.

My steering wheel, from appearence, has never been dead straight from the get-go.
In fact, I posted this not long after I purchased my truck. It's no different with AM wheels, tires and leveling kit. A wheel alignment, ballance and correct tire pressure all round did improve it somewhat, however, it still [ever-so] slightly hangs to the left. My steering wheel that is... |
I had the same problem once, took it back to the alignment shop and they adjusted the steering wheel and made it perfect,my alignment was on, just not matched up to dead center of the steering wheel.

It'll be the steering wheel itself that isn't matched up to the trucks alignment. Not really a big deal, but if you want it perfect you could take it to a shop and get them to straighten it out. I've done it lots with steering wheels without airbags, pop out the horn, the column nut, and pull the wheel off. Never tried one with an airbag, maybe somebody else knows how you could do it yourself.
