Going from 31's to 33's

I am looking at some rim's on my truck. I currently have 31's and was thinking of getting 33's when I upgrade. Now I pull my boat in the summer and will be towing up some pretty good hills going to our summer place. Will the 2" bigger diameter make a real noticable difference?

A lot will depend on your powertrain. I have the 5.4 with 3.55 gears and diddn't notice a difference when I went from 30's to 33's. If I had a V6, I'm sure I would have felt the difference.

I'm not sure that anyone can answer that for you. I noticed 32-33" tires with a 4x4 5.4L 3.73 gear. Would everyone? Probably not. Powertrain and driving style will determine how much anyone would notice.

I tow my Tige with 33's and 3.73 gears and 5.4 ....tows just fine and I tow up some good sized hills to get to a few of the lakes I go to. Again, it depends on your drivetrain, but IMO going to 33's will hardly be noticeable.

I felt no difference going to 33" tires, big difference when I put on some 35's. Best way to make a slow truck even slower!!

Stock gears can be 3.08, 3.31, 3.55, 3.73 or 4.10 on an F-150. Check the driver's do0r tag for Axle Code.
