01 Screw with stock rims

I am getting my leveling kit put on this weekend and next weekend I am instaling a 3" body lift.

Then comes tires. I am not going to be upgrading my rims. I am going to stay with my stock 16's.
Have not decided on 33's or 35's yet, but my question is with the stock rims how wide can I go? (I am worried about rub at full lock)
Also, will I need to do any regearing? I am not really worried about losing to much power, but if it is going to be really noticable then I will look at regearing.

I just put 305/70/17 (33.81 x 12.00) Buckshots on my 97' scab 4x4. The torsion bars are turned enouugh to level the truck and the tires don't rub at full turn. The wheels are 7.5 wide and it works fine. Hope this helps.

I did not regear mine. I've read on here that if you go 35" or larger that you should regear. Mine still feels pretty powerful. It's stock except for true duals and the tires.

You will be much better off to crank up your torsion bars with your OEM adjustment keys. The aftermarket keys just allow way too much preload to be placed on the torsion bars. This leads to increased wear and tear on your suspension components and destroyes your ride quality.

I agree. Aftermarket keys are a waste.

So I can still get the same "leveling" affect from the OEM keys just by cranken'em down?

RIght. Increasing torsion bar preload is increasing torsion bar preload. It doesn't matter if you use the oem keys or aftermarket keys.

OK, cranked up my OEM torsion keys and put my 3" PA body lift on this weekend. :smoke:

Now to raise some money for tires and wheels, as I found out I am not going to be able to use my stock rims.
