Tire Size 06 4x4

I just got A 2006 F150 Supercab XLT 4x4 w/ very little 235/75/17 tires on it( W/ the painted accent wheels) I like my wheels but want bigger tires. What size can i go w/ no lift at all without rubbing. Thx

you can go to a 33 inch tire if you keep the oem wheels..keep them. if you put a leveling kit on you could fit 35 inch tires under there w really no trimming probably. depends what size you wanna go and how much $ ya wanna spend i have 33s on mine and looks great. with 35 youll have to put the spacers on and be more gas $ so its what ever youd like better:beers:

Red, I would say up to a 285x70x17{33"} or a 305x70x17{34"} with a leveling kit. That's if your wheels are 7.5" wide.

I'd go with a 285/70-17 (33x11.50), 295/70-17 (34x12.00) or a 305/65-17 (33x12.50).

Wandell I Have A 2006 Fx4 With A 2" Levening Kit. Will I Be Safe With A 305/65/18.iam Looking For Height More Than With. Most All My Driving Is On Road Some Off And Bad Weather Here In Tn. What Brand Tire Would Be A Good All Around Tire?. Thanks For Your Help

wandell 03-12-2007 05:44 PM

The only one tire I know of in that size is the BFG AT KO. You will be fine if you use the OEM wheels.

dolfan2751 03-12-2007 06:13 PM

THANKS. Would a 295/70/18 work? Plus give us more options?

PawPaw 03-12-2007 08:13 PM

A few companies make a 285x65x18, close to 33" tall.

wandell 03-13-2007 02:44 AM

I agree. I've never seen a 285/70-18 tire.

red2006 03-13-2007 05:39 PM

I think Im gonna wait to get the autospring 2.5 leveling kit. Will 285/70/17 tires look good w/ stock wheels and the kit? I just want a little beefier look

wandell 03-13-2007 08:26 PM

Yes, it will look fine.

PawPaw 03-13-2007 08:28 PM

Red, the 285's or 295's ought to fit on your truck, I'm running the 285x70x17 Toyo AT's on mine now.

red2006 03-13-2007 09:42 PM

PawPaw, the stance on your truck is the exact way i want mine to look. What is the backspacing on those wheels? 17x9's right? Thanks im gonna have to wait alittle to do this but i'm getting excited!

red2006 03-13-2007 11:03 PM

Sorry for all the questions, but one more. After doing alittle research I found wheels and tires. If i Go with the 2" Autospring leveling kit. Could i go with 17x9 wheels w/ 5.5 BackSpacing wrapped in 285/70/17 rubber? If im right it would stick out 1.5-2" farther than stock right now, correct? The wheels are Mickey Thompson Classic II's and im undecided on the rubber yet.

wandell 03-14-2007 10:50 AM

Yes, that combo would work. They would stick out 1.5 inches farther than the OEM wheels.
