Painting stock '99 alloy wheels

I don't want to shell out the big bucks for neat rims for my '99 16" alloy rims. So, I was wondering if it was possible to paint the wheels leaving the outer rim stock alloy? What would be the process or is it even possible or advisable? I was thinking black centers and spokes.

Yeah, it's possible. I'd suggest getting a body shop to do it or have them powdercoated

All OEM aluminum rims are painted, so painting them a different color that solver should not be a problem. As Wandell said, have a body shop do it and clearcoat them.

if you want it to look good and be a quality job that isnt going to wash off or fade away, you are going to have to fork out more money than you are expecting. IMO powdercoating would be the best route if you want a durable and quality wheel. a paint and body shop is probably going to charge by the hour, which is not by any means cheap now a days. also consider, you will probably have to have your tires unmounted and then remounted after paint. hope this helps

Duplicolor makes a wheel paint.

I wonder if it's any good?

I painted the wheels on my Z28 with regular rattle can wheel spray paint and clear. They turned out real nice and I don't remember any durability problems. Mine were a dark cast Gray color.
