Lowest backspacing

hi i have a 2005 F150 xlt 4 door and i am looking for new wheels and tires. i want to get 295/70/17 or 33/12.5/17 nitto terra grapplers or pro-comp xtreme a/t and want to get a new wheel too. what backspacing should i get to avoid rubbing.

2 or 4 wheel drive?

Just so you don't have problems, there has been some fitment problems with some (not all) aftermarket 17 inch wheels on some 2005 and newer trucks. Ford went to a larger brake caliper sometime during the 05 model year. As for the wheels, I'd suggest 5.5 or 6 inches of backspacing. 5 inches of backspacing will also work if you want a wider stance.
