will 285/50/20 work

i've been looking on different tire sites like discount and tire rack and they all say that i could fit 285/50/20 on a 99' 2wd. i was planning on getting the nitto terra grapplers or toyo open country a/t, do you guys think this will work with no rubbing. also, which ones do you guys think are better. not gonna be doin much off roading, just driving through some light mud or sand with my dirtbike.

thanks

Yes they will work but the inside of the tire will rub a little at full turn. I have 285/50r20 on my 03 4x2 and they work fine

I have a '98 2wd running 285-50-20s on 10'' rims with +10mm offset. On occasions I will get some light rubbing in front when cranked all the way to one side but not enough to be of concern and that’s with a 10’’ wide wheel. So you should be fine.
