New Shoes! 285/75/16's on a '97

hey guys, just wanted to show off my new wheels and tires a little bit. They aren't anything special, just a bit bigger than the stock wimpy ones. I was going to get some muds but I'm going to get a new 07 FX4 in about 8 months or so with some 35's on it, so I didn't want to just blow the money on this truck.

here's what it used to look like...

the old wheels started flaking and stuff so I bought new chrome ones off ebay, I believe they are off a XLT or an expedition or something. I think it was a solid investment.

yeah it made a world of difference. sits a little higher now too. I did crank the t-bars up a little bit to level it out. Feels more like a truck now, but it should've came from the factory like this! Thanks for the compliments

The truck looks much better with the new rubber and wheels. I'm getting my 285/75/16 BFG A/Ts soon myself. How many turns did you give your torsion bars? How did that affect the ride?

I don't know how much I cranked the t bars actually...becuase I cranked them up to pretty much maxed out, and then I had 2" blocks in the back. I wasn't really happy with the ride, although it wasn't that bad, but I decided to take the blocks out and lower it back down. When I lowered it, I just kind of eyeballed the levelness of the truck, so I coudln't tell you how many cranks I did on them. I guess you'll have to get out a tape measure. But the little bit I cranked them didn't affect the ride qaulity at all, and rides like a stock truck.
