285's VS 265's

What are yall's opinions? Based on looks and performance, would you get a 285/75/16 tire or 265/75/16 tire on a leveled 2001 SCrew? I wish I could get a 275/75/16 General Grabber AT2. Pictures of similar setups would be greatly appreciated?

Bassmaster:
I have 265/70x16's on 16x8's. My truck is stock height. More pics in my gallery

ones a 33 and ones a 32. 265s are 10.4 inches wide. 285s are 11 inches wide. i think 33s fill out these wheel wells nicely and a wider tire usually looks better.

I went with 33's.

I had 305/70-16's on my stock height 2001 SCrew 4x4 with no problems, no trimming.

question

I have a 1998 F150 4x4 at the stock height with 265/75/16's on Eagle alloy 16x8 rims. Is it possible to put 285/75/16's on the truck as it is currently setup?

If not, what would need to be done?

Thanks,
Stephen

If you have a 4x2 at stock height, go with the 265's. Just my opinion.

Good to hear that they will fit. Now i have to decide on tires. The truck had Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor 265/75/16's when I purchased it. they were very good in the snow last year. I had a problem with the tie-rods and wound up ruining the two fronts (now on the rear), so I am faced with a dilema......buy two new tires for the rear, or go up a size and buy 4 new ones.

Anybody have any comments on the Silent Armor tires?

Which duellers did you mean.

I have heard that the Dueler HT 689's are absolutely terrible in wet weather and snow. Or did you mean the Dueler AT Revos, which have gotten some good reviews along with the Bridgestone Dueler HL's......

i am looking for a good meaty all terrain tire that can handle light off roading and also the rain and snow......

Thanks

The Dueler AT and AT Revo are excellent tires. I'm not sure of their other models.
