15.50 on 10" rim

I am thinking about getting some new mickey thompson MTZ's 38x15.50R16. I have 16x10 rims. A few people have told me I can't do this, Also mickey thompson recommends 11-13" wide wheels. I have seen a few trucks on here that are running the 15.50 on 10 inches. Thanks!!

I'm runnin the 36x15.50 Claws on some 20x10's with no problems.

i was having this same delema and looked around and even posted a thread just like this.... i dont think you would have a problem at all thats a large tire on a small 16" rim. i think that a bigger rim on a smaller tire would be worse like tooks truck but even he hasn't had a problem. i wouldnt worry about it.

A few members here and at FTW are running 15.50 inch wide tires on 10 inch wide wheels with no problems.

Thanks Guys!! Now my only other question. I was going to get the toyo open country MT 38x14.50r16's but since they are on national back order and every where is telling me it could be 30-60 days I think I am going to go with the Mickey Thompson MTZ's. I can get a 395/70/16 which is a 38x15.50. But I am worried about the width of the tire rubbing my wheel wells. I am running 38x12.50 right now with no problems but i am worried about the extra 2.5-3 inches in width on this tire. Do you think it will rub. Do you think it will rub bad enough that no trimming will fix it. I am just worried about it rubbing when I turn. Thanks Everyone!

The only prob I had on my old truck(2003 Supercrew FX4, Fabtech 6", 2" Body lift) when I ran the 38x15.50x16 Claws on 16x10's the tires would hit the torsion bars at full lock.

bud8817 12-04-2006 12:29 AM

how much lift do you have on your truck???

blackflareside 12-04-2006 05:11 AM

It is a 97F150 with a 5" superlift and a 3"body lift, Torision bars are cranked a lot but not all the way, and add a leafs in the year. So probably close to 10 inches.

Do you think I can run 38x15.50x20 on a 20x12 rim? Been trying to decide on offset and what width to go with for a while now and just can't decide
