Ok,i just bought a super cab o1 with the 5.4.It is an auto, and i am planing on a regear,i think 4.88 should do it.I am trying to see if anyone has run a 38x14.50 tire, and if so what problems have you had,the wheels i am looking at are, weld stonecrusher 15x12's,so anyone with pic's????

Just FYI, you wont be able to clear 15s...the brake calipers require at least a 16" wheel on these trucks.
I dont know that I have seen many people with 38s, Ive seen a few with 37s. |
i would not run anything wider than a 13.5. at that size of tire you are already straining the hell out of your steering components and balljoints. wider tires will kill those parts even faster.
yeah you can fit a tire that big, drive around for maybe half a year without problems, but 1/2 ton suspension is not designed for that size of tire, even if you keep it on the road a skinny 37 (37x12.5 or 37x13.5) will get you some decent size and be a little easier on your steering/bj's (youll still have to change each around once every year), theyll also work well with the 4.88s you wanted |
OOOOOOps,maybe i should have searched a little more, with size wheels that fit on these trucks, thanks for not flaming me.
