your thoughts on using at's for mostly hwy driving

I need new tires on my truck('99 f-150 standard cab, 2wd, v6 with 235/70r16). I'm looking at going with a slightly larger tire, maybe 245/70r16 but keeping the same rim. Would there be any disadvantages to getting all-terrains for mostly hwy driving, just to give the truck a more aggresive look? The stock size tire just looks to small.

You may get more road noise using ATs than your current set-up. Other than that...I don't see any problem.

I noticed less noise and a smoother ride when I switched my 255/70 Goodyear Trackers (Wallyworld tires, thanks old owners...) to my current 265/75 Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revos.

I had some BF Goodrich All/Terrains on my old truck. Didn't have any road noise that I could hear. If you keep them rotated and inflated properly...I don't think you will have any problems at all.

I have BFGs on mine, and I dont get off-road too much. They do fine on the highway.

Make sure you check up every now and then on the air pressure, if they get low gas mileage can take a nose dive, course I guess that goes for any tire ;)

I have the BFG's as well, mostly highway driving too. No problems, although they are a little (as in very little) louder than the stock Goodyear POS's that were on the truck, they are so much nicer tire!!
