Is 6" Backspace better than 5.5" ???
I know backspace issues have been beat to death, but I could not find a thread that specifically answeres this.
I know my leveled 05 Screw 4x4 has 18x7.5 OEM wheels have 5.5" backspacing, I'm going to a 17x9 with 35" BFG's, the two wheels that I am looking at have either a 5.5" backspace or a 6", which is going to cause me the least amount of rubbing issues or are they equally compatable ?
Thanks for your time.

I think you should stay with the 5.5" backspace if you plan on getting beefier tires. If you go with a 6" you may have to trim more plastic or get possible rubbing issues. BUT, the 6" backspace could give you a better look with a wider wheel since the wheel/tire should not stick out by much. Ask them to try a wheel out BEFORE they mount it just to see if you like how it looks. They should not have a problem in doing this and may save you from a costly mistake. Good luck

the more backspacing the farther the wheel will be in the fender well. less backspacing will make it stick out more.

Yep, I had 4.25" on some wheels I purchased for a lift and they stuck out about 3 1/2 inches. Never got the lift and sold the wheels. Lost a few hundred dollars.
