Are there 17" LT's for '02 Screw?
I tow a trailer with some sway on original P275/60R17's. Are there LT's available? Thanx

I have an 02 S-Cab Sport with the 17" rims and had the same size stock tires you have. I went with the BFG AT KO's LT285/70/17. Got some pics in my gallery but they were quite stuffed in the wheel wells with the stock 4X2 suspension. |
Yes you can get LT tires, what kind of tread are you looking for? Highway, all-terrain, mud tires???
|
I replaced my BFG AT/KOs with bridgstone revos LT 265/70R 17s last fall. I have been verry happy with them so far.

Try discount tire direct, you should be able to find some there. I went with Nitto Terra Grappler A/T's and I love them. Much better than my Goodyear Wranglers

You won't find a LT tire in the stock size 275/60R17. Then closes size in an LT would be LT275/70R17 Goodyear AT/S, but I don't know if they will rub or not on a 2wd.
The 275/60R17 is about 30.0x11.00-17 The 275/70R17 is about 32.5x11.00-17 |
Thanx for the replies.. A lot of LT labeled tires are for off road use with aggressive tread designs. I am looking more for on road use only, towing stability because of the LT tire wall stiffness. I think I'll research the Goodyears a little more.. Thanx again...

If you are staying on road, get some Michelin's LTX M/S, they cost a little more, but you will get great tread life out of them.

I tow a two axel 5500lbs far and fast with no trouble on the stock tires.. Willsurf |
You should not have problems from the stock tires as they are load rated well above your rear axle ratings. Are you using a WD hitch w/ sway control?
