Question Question on number of plys on a General LT

I have the stock General LT245 70 17 tires on my 8200 GVW 04 F-150. It says on the tire that there are 6 plys, I sometimes see the exact same tire offered for sale on the web and it calls it an 8 ply. Does this model come in both 6 and 8 ply?
General Tire website gives no info on plys.
Thanks for info in advance.

I don't know....the standard tire on the f-150 is a 2ply hancook 235 70 17....for light use a 6 ply is all you will need, I have 10 ply, load range E BFG tires on my 04 F-150, oem tire than came with my truck were the hancooks.
And a more ply's in tire will not stop you from getting flats due to nail puntures....

Hummm.......never heard of a Hancook. Maybe certain areas get certain tires.
