Geeeeze, I hope not. I just put a set on my truck cause I was told they last longer - and don't squeal (which they don't).

the pads dont wear out fast, the rotors do!! and they will squil a little when under light pressure but when you push harder on the brakes it will go away. I didnt like mine, I have to say though, little to no dust on my wheels sure was nice.

yeah i agree with trashcan. no dust, however, Ive never heard that they kill the rotor life though. i use them because replacing brakes or rotors are easier that polishing after market aluminum wheels. never noticed any premature wear on my rotors or pads either. 25,000 trailer towing miles on newest set and they still look good. no grooves or nothing. alot pad left.

Ceramic pads traditionally do wear faster but alot of that depends on your driving habits. The best ceramics to get are made by Bendix and if you want really heavy duty they also make a fleet line brake pad. The Raybestos "QS" series are also pretty good.

I have EBC 6000's on the front of my truck and have had no dusting issues whatsoever. I have Motorcraft OEM's on the rear and haven't noticed them dusting either.

I could not live with the dust and at 13,000 miles, I got a premium semi-metallic pad. Wagner Thermo Quiet. At about 7,000 miles I have had no problems and the dust is very minimal.
