16x10's on a 98 150 S/C 4x4 (will they fit)
I have a 1998 F-150 S/C 4x4 W/ 4.6L and currently have 265/75/16's on stock rims and have a stock lift. I am looking to get a wider and more agressive stance to my truck so I was thinking of going with either MT classic II or eagle 102's in a 16x 10 with a 285/75/16 or 305/70/16 tire. My question is will either or both of my choices fit and what backspacing is best for this combo. If not, what would you reccommend? I am aware that I will have some valance trimming to do. Keep in mind I am looking for something that will stick out of the wells if possible. Thank you in advance.

Either of those combinations should fit. With the 285's youll probably have to crank the torsion bars or trim the plastic valence to keep the tires from rubbing. With the 305s youll probably have to do both.

I agree. You need 4 1/2 or 4 5/8 inches of backspacing with 10 inch wide wheel. You will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. I have some pics in my gallary.

Not to sound dumb, but how do I crank up the torsion bars and is it something I can do in the driveway. I am pretty mechanical, so I am not afriad to jump this project, just like to know how. Also which tire is going to hang out of the well more, I am guessing the 305's will. Thanks

This should explain how to do it:

I have 33x12.5 on my 16x8 and they stick out decently. Click on my web link you can see my truck. I would put a pic in my signiture block but I have not figured that part out yet.
