HELP: bleeding brakes 2000 F-150

I change calipers on my brothers 2000 F-150 4x4 today and can't bleed the air out of the lines. I can get pressure when the truck is off but not when it is running. Do I need to disable the ABS to bleed the brakes? I was going to try pulling the fuse on the ABS but Ford numbers the fuse box instead of labeling them. So if anyone can tell me what fuse number it is or what I need to do to bleed the brakes it would help me alot.

Thanks
Kevin

Did you put the calipers on the correct side. the bleeder needs to be at the top. If it is then just keep bleeding. a good way to get most of it done is to leave the bleed screws open and let gravity do it. make sure the master cylinder stays full. when it runs clear bleed it like you normally would.

1 caliper has the bleeder on the top one on the bottom. I bleed all of the old fluid out and just can't seem to get any pressure. I might try to use a speed bleeder

Thats the problem. the bleeders need to be on top so you can get the air out. You need a left and a right not 2 of one.

Recently I replaced both front calipers on my 97 F150 and had the same problem. I had the right and left calipers reversed(bleeders on bottom), changed calipers, bleeders on top and then was able to get all air out resulting in firm pedal. Good luck.

Would one still need to pump and purge to bleed if iyou put on new calipers, keep the master full and let fluid drip from the bleeders?
