Best 33" tire

I have an 05 supercrew (2x4) with the 2inch Autospring and wanted to see what the best 33" A/T tire would be for an 18" Mazzi Hulk rim.18x10 Mazzi Hulk on Ebay I was looking at the Toyo and Nitto but would like some advice as to what would fit and not rub.

I don't know about the fit, but a friend of mine has a 2004 Superduty with Nitto Terra Grapplers on it and he loves them. He never has traction problems and he drives his pickup hard. He lives on a farm, so the tires see some pretty muddy situations. They do good in snow from what i have seen when i have been with him.

mk,
I put on a set of 33" Nitto TGs, and have been completely satisfied with them ever since. They grip in all conditions, and hold up well.

I don't know this for a fact, but I heard that the Toyos and Nittos were made by the same company, maybe even the same plant. Don't quote me on that, though...

Good luck finding them right now, though...that national backorder for 33" tires from all manufacturers kept me from getting mine for 3 months...

Yep, the Toyo AT's, Terra Grapplers and BFG AT KO's are the best all terrian tires available.

I would have to agree with NC FX4. Look once at the Terra Grapplers and the Toyo Open Country A/Ts, they have a nearly identical tread pattern on them. It is very possible that they are made by the same company. Both would be a great all around tire. I also like BFG All Terrains. I had a set on my last pickup and they worked very well for me in all conditions.

Thanks a lot. I think I'm leaning toward the Nitto t/g. I just wanted to make sure they would fit with those rims 6x135 (-15mm offset)

I just talked to my friend who has the Terra Grapplers on his Superduty, he said that he is not disappointed with them at all. He said they work great for him in all conditions and that he will stick with that tire from now on.

I love me Nittos.....I also have had the pleasure of the BFG At. Great tire...except for mud. They fill and become racing slicks.

Hey NC FX4 Screw,

I was wondering if you have any pictures of your truck with the LT 325/65 R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers on it. This is pretty much the same setup I'm looking to install, but I was concerned about the 12.89" tire width and the recommended 9.5" rim width (2 full inches wider than the stock rims I plan on mounting to). Thanks.

No, Kumho is it's own deal. Nitto and Toyo are "sister" companies. From what little I know of Toyo RA-1 and Nitto RR-II race tires, they are the same rubber compound. Different representatives at the track, but basically the same company.

Back on topic:

I love my Nittos. Balanced out so well the tire guy stated it was the best set of oversized tires he'd ever balanced. Very quiet so far, rides very well. For price and appearance, you can't beat the Nitto's.
