new 285's

i just got my 285/70/17 bfg's on stock rims and went on a long trip. i used my gps and the speedo was on the whole time according to the gps unit. i also did not see any gas loss mybe a half a gallon on the whole trip iwas very pleased. plus i got a lot of complements about the way they look.

I had the same thing happen to me. My wife and I were stopped at a red light and 2 guys were staring at my tires. My wife was like "They are only tires!". I am going to say something, so I locked out the windows ASAP.
The 285's are an excellent tire and do wear well. Congrats!

you have to have them taken off the rim and remounter with white facing in... personally i dont care either way on my truck ( got the same tires and size)... what more to say but

285's

I have an '02 SuperCrew 4x4 (not the FX4) with 16" rims. Will the BFG 285's fit on my stock setup? I see the truck in pic is FX4 and didn't know if there is any additional clearance that would allow them to work on it and not mine. I currently have 245 70 Wrangler MTR's, but they are toast. I love them, but I don't do any offroading other than sand. The wear great though, I've got 50,000 on them now and have probably another 3,000-5,000 left.

Thanks.

There is no difference in clearance between the 4x4 and FX4 packages.

285's will fit on your truck just fine.

You don't need to crank the torsion bars up to fit 285's.

I just put Toyo open country a/t 285/70R17 on my 02 screw 4x4 Lariat and they fit perfectly without any cranking.
