i have a 2005 2wd supercrew,i want to give it a 4x4 look,but not too big because of my short wife.32-33 tall at the most.i plan to do a 2" leveling kit at the most.i want it to look a little wider and only want to do 17's,something like the eagle 178,or 186's.what size tire should i be trying to find to fit a 17 and give it the wider stance,but only going as tall as a 32-33.i like the way the nittos,mt and the bfg's look.

Personaly I wouldn't go with more than a 32" tire. I have a friend that had a 4x2 with 265/75/16's(32") and I always thought it looked borderline too big. With a leveling kit I think it would be alright, though. So, without all the tire size techno-garble I'd go with a 265/70/17 and the leveling kit.

 

I just noticed that your truck is an '05. I don't know much about tire size on that bodystyle, I was using the 99-03 as a reference.

 

A 285/70-17 is pushing the limit. I'd go with that size or smaller.

 

even with a 2.5 inch leveling kit,285 still pushing it?i plan to use eagle 17" 187's probably with the 4.6 inch backspacing

 

try a 17x9 wheel with a 33-12.5 r 17 tire. It looks awesome on my 2004 FX4
