Question nitto 325/60R18 checkup

ok..through searching ive come to the understanding that mounting 325/60R18 Nitto T-Gs on the stock 18"x7.5 FX4 rims is not exactly sound. However, I would like to know from those members who did go ahead with the tires/stock rims how they're holding up-(if they're still on) and would you say its worth the risk??

thanks for the help- jj

Right now I'm running 315/70/17s on stock 17x7.5" wheels and the only problem, if you want to call it that is that the last 1/2" of tread at the outside of the tires isn't making good contact with the road. IE the center portion is will wear faster than the middle. Otherwise no problems.....

How much air pressure are you running Mshane1? Sounds like it may be too high. I wouldn't go below 35psi for daily driving but you may want to play with it some. A lot of tire places are bad about inflating the tires to the maximum psi listed on the sidewall (which is what you want to run when towing or hauling heavy loads).

I've been bouncing it around a little trying to find the best spot.... Right now I'm right at about 40 psi which is 10 below whats listed on the tire. It will be a moot point after next week because that's when the 17x9 Helos go on and then I won't have to worry about too small of a wheel for that tire....I will post pics of the wheels that wouldn't work on a non lifted truck with a 35" tire according to Wheelpros when I get them on......

Don't do it. Get larger rims: 9" minimum.

shane, your tires are 10 mm narrower. i asked my local tire shop, and he said it wouldnt be any problem mounting them on the stock wheel.

I'm having the 325/60/18 installed ... hopefully on Monday ... but I am using 18x8.5 wheels ( MB Motoring Predator ), not the stock wheels. I've seen a picture ( attached ) of this tire on a truck using the stock wheels and the overhang of the tire was excessive. I believe this will cause the center of the tire to wear prematurely.

Has anyone had any problems with the Nitto TG 325/60/18 rubbing when installing on a truck without any lift?

Pic of truck with Nitto TG 325/60/18 on stock wheels and no lift ... is posted on this site somewhere but don't have link.
