Newby needs some assistance...

I am going to buy in the next 3-4 weeks a 2005 F-150 Lariat Supercrew 4x4, it comes standard with a 285/75/18 goodyear or BFG tire. I am considering upgrading the tire & wheel combo right after purchase, but would rather not lift the truck. What is the largest tire and wheel combination that I can put on this truck without a required lift? I am going to drive more on highway than offroad so lets stay with the AT versions, just wanted a little more pop to the truck. Suggestions... Thanks in advance.

Tire numbers

Are you sure those numbers are correct? That comes out to almost a 35" tire already. I think you got the profile of the stock tire incorrect. Look at your tire numbers again.

I have a 2004 f-150 extended cab 8200 GVWR and I just went to 295/70/17 (About 33.19") and would not want much more than that. It looks good now, but more would be crowded without a lift (I do have the 2" revtek leveling kit for the front.) Without it the tires I have might rub.

Hope that this helps.

Yah 92"s right thats the wrong O.E. tire size for that truck. 285\75\ is the biggest that would fit without rubbing and looking crappy without a lift.

yea seems hi- my new 05 came with the bfg rugged trails which are 275/70 ?/18's (~30") 33's would probably be your max before leveling or lifting. even then you may experience some rub

Sounds like you would be best suited with the 285/65-18 BFG AT KO's. They work out to be approximately a 33x11.50-18. I also believe you are mistaken on your stock size. I think they may be 275/65-18's.
