Always liked bendixs pads. Never tried the titanium tho. Let us know what you think if you do. Tried autozones cheapies and went right back to bendixs.

After doing hundreds of brake jobs on full size Fords, I only use factory OEM Ford pads now on full size Ford trucks.

The only reason I wouln't is the truck being used for a different application, like oversized tires, or people who complain about brake dust. I am a believer in ceramics for such occasions, but becareful as the rotors wear extremely fast and they will glide (not stop) at low speeds when new until broken in.

Bendix titanium II's

Just joined, have a 99. Autozone is trying to sell me on Bendix ceramics.
I'm looking for an upgrade to the existing brakes. We are on our 3rd set of rotors at 100k. Any thoughts?

Save your rotors

I've been using the CarbonMetallic pads for several years now, they last a long time, my 1997 Explorer went over 60,000 miles on them and still going, and the rotors still look good, now at 137,000 miles. They say the CarbonMetallics don't wear the rotors so much.

Bendix Titanium II

Just install Bendix Titanium II. Noisy (chirps and growls on hard stops). Good stopping power. I have used various combination pads and rotors. IMHO best all around brakes are Ford OEM. If I had it to do over I would use Ford replacement brakes rotors, pads and flex hoses on the street. If you want good stoping power hard to beat Ford parts unless you step up to "high dollar" brakes like used in Craftsmen Truck Series.
