Is BF Goddrich impossible to get

I need to replace the original Wrangler 265/70R17 tires on my ī02 Screw.

I want to get a little bigger tires and very much like the 285/70R17 BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO but I canīt find them available anywhere. I would preferably want to keep the stock wheels and not do any trimming.

So my questions are:

1. Can anyone tell me where I can get those without waiting for month(s) or recommend something similar (in quality and size) which would fit the stock rims without any trimming?

2. Should I go for a 16" wheel/tire combos and do you have any recommendations for that , i.e. type of tire/rims and best place to buy those.

Thanks

285s will fit on the stock tires without any mods (on a 4x4).

As for where to find them, where all have you looked? I bought mine at Sams a while back, I dont know if they had 285s though. Could probably order them.

you can try tirerack.com as well.

Yes the truck is 4x4.

I checked with Bjīs and they donīt carry this size. This size wonīt be available on tirerack.com until sometimes in June (Backorder)...canīt wait until late June. Checked with Town Fair Tire, they didnīt have it.

Possibly 4wheelparts.com has some available...at least they donīt mention they are not available on there website but they could tell you that after you place the order so I will check with them by calling first

Thanks

I looked all over for the same tires and ran into the same problem you did, backorder until June. So I went with a 16" package which will make it mush easier in the future to find tires. In fact I got a tire/wheel package for only a few hundred more than the 4 BFG's would have cost and I like these much better.

Check out this link, they have free mounting, balancing and shipping on all wheel packages. I went with the 16X8 with 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grappler on my 03 Screw.

Thanks for that...which of these tires would you reccomend. I am truly driving in all season conditions...some off-roading during summer (not much mud) and of course highway. Snow and icy conditions during winter.

And this size, 33x12.50-17, should fit the 2002 screw 4x4 (orig. 17" wheels)without any rubbing?...also when the suspension is close to its extreme pos.?

As I understand it, the tire of this width (12.50) is approx. 2" wider than the original 265x70x17 and approx. 1.28" wider than the 285 size.
