Tire Newb Questions Inside
 

Ok for the last 3 nights i been lookin at nothing but rims and tires to put on my truck so many choises lol.

I wanna go with 35's Tires Because Eventually down the road imma do a 6'' Lift. Right now i just have the 2 inch Revteck lvling kit And ive seen richgonfishn pics of 35's and he says they only rub when he turns the wheel all the way if im right his rims are 18x8.5 the ones im lookin at are 18x10 will they rub more? or even work at all?

I'd Really like to do Wheels & Tires now and dont really wanna go 33's if im gonna fo shure do 35's down the road :rolleyes: :help:

I don't beleive that there is any way you are gonna fit 35's on a 10 inch wide rim with just a leveling kit. All the 04's I've seen with a leveling kit and 35's have used the stock wheels, 8's or 8.5 inch wide wheels. All the 04's that I've seen with 10's have the tires sticking way outside the fenderwells. Why not use your stock wheels and 35's for now?

Thats always a option ^ ^ like i said i dont know much about wheels didnt know if anyone was actually runnin 18x10's i like the wider look instead of the bubbled up look:thumbsup:


btw whats Back Spacing mean i ve seen in some of the post?

ok would 33's on 18x10s work fine?

Do they even make 35s that will FIT a stock rim? Yes, I know folks are going it, but those guys are gonna have pre-mature tire wear down the center due to the slim 7.5" stock rim.

Talk to your dealer 'bout the aftermarket wheels & backspacing to aid in rub prevention. If you want 10", your gonna be stickin' 'em out the side. Time to buy bigger fender flares as well!

I know severl member who are running 315's on 7.5 inch rims and are not having any problems after 10's of thousands of miles. Remember, it's only 1/2 inch narrower than recommended. Also, backspacing is the measurement from the mounting point of the wheel to the edge of the rear lip.

A 35" nitto requires a 9-10" rim. That's 1.5 inches diff. I'd like to see those tires after 20k and how the tread wear is...

Isn't the 35 inch Nitto a 325mm wide tire? That's a little wider than most 35's, so it stands to reason that they would recommend a wider wheel. I wouldn't want to leave a 325 mm wide tire mounted on a 7.5 inch wide wheel permantly. But if it is only for a few months????

The Nitto M/t was actually the tire i was leaning towards....


They have regular mud drags in my area and im really wanting to clean house in the stock class :rocker: Right now a friend of mine has been dominating it in a 90ish f 150 nothing like winning a couple hundread bucks playin in the mud :thumbsup:
