Baby's got new shoes

Had 285/60R16 Goodyear Eagle GT IIs installed all around on my F150. They have a nice wide look and traction is a billion times better than the crappy General AWs. Spinning tires is now an effort, instead of an embarrasing (and unsafe) part of city driving.

Did you post about these tires earlier? If so I wish I would have seen it because I would have tried to change your mind. The Goodyear Eagle GT II tires came stock on my STX package in 275/60R17 size. They are pretty good tires, but I really don't like their wet traction at all. Most goodyears have that reputation. I would have went with the BF Goodrich Comp TA HR4 tires. Replaced the goodyear eagle gatorbacks on one of my wifes Mustang's with the Z rated Comp TA's and they have much better wet traction. But you are right, they are still a billon times better than the generals...

I had considered both, but went with the GYs just because of price. It was pretty tough convincing the wife that tires with only 3k miles needed replaced. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/wink.gif

So far (and we've had quite a lot of rain), I've got no complaints. Wet traction is terrific- but that is comparing to the Generals. Next time, I'll probably do the BFGs if Firestone still doesn't have the firehawk in that size.

I can understand that. My wet traction was better too when the truck was new, but I am at about 25k miles now. The tread still looks great but the wet traction is not as good. Of couse that fact that I have developed heavy foot syndrome could have something to do with that too. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif
