35's ON a SCREW 4x4 w/3"Lift
 

I have looked all over the forum for answers and have done a lot of reading. Im due for tires sometime coming up this summer and i currently have 33x12.5 on 16.5 rims(i kno i shouda got 16" rims)

I have a 4x4 with a 3" Body Lift and clear my 33's pretty well. I have seen 2 peolpe on this site with this set up and clear 35's but it seems that everyone i talk to says i cant do it!! Is there a certain type of tire that i have to use, or would i just be better off with 33's. I dont want to do a lot of trimming, a tiny would be ok but nothing to drastic. What do you guys think?

You should be ok running 35's with a 3" BL, but you might need to crank the Tbars a little bit. Most people that have a BL are running 35's, I will be when my 33's run out.

Read my signature. I've had 35s for 1.5 years with the setup you have. I had to crank my torsion bars and do some trimming to make them fit.

Yep, the transmission is from running 35s with 3.55 gears. It just flat out works the tranny too hard. If you regeared to 4.56 you'd be ok. My steering is worn out and my tie rod ends and idler arm need replacing. Also braking SUCKS at best. Regearing won't fix these problems, its just the nature of the beast. You'll still go through steering and brakes with 33s too, it just won't be as fast as it would be with 35s. If you could actually get better quality steering parts than what Ford makes 35s wouldn't be a problem if you regeared when you put them on. The brakes can always be upgraded but its a cast of gotta pay to play. My 35s might go back on after I regear and I'm just driving around, but when I'm towing I'll be running 33s and 4.56 gears to save the tranny as much as possible.

People run 315/70R17 on stock rims and suspension which comes out to a little over 34". I am sure 35" will fit with a 3" lift.

I jsut got my truck finished yesterday. I have a 2001 F150 Supercrew with 3" PA body lift with BFG AT 315/70/17. I have no problem with rubbing and didn't have to do any trimming. I kept them on stock wheels, and I think they are just under 35's?

This guy in our Oklahoma FTW chapter is running 35's but went with a 5" lift just for kicks.

Ive been looking at the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires...I found them at tirerack.com for 155 so my local shop hopefully has them at that price....anyone have thoughts on these, how are they?

I don't have any pics yet, but I will try to get access to a digital camera this week. I posted 2 or 3 threads about a problem I'm having though. I have a euro style brush guard, and it bolts to the frame, but my question was if there was a product to modify it to fit with the lift or am I just gonna have to have some pieces fabricated? Thanks

here is a 3" lift with the 315-70-17 BFG A/T's. I have had no problems with rubbing.

Recently purchased Revo's (LT265/75R/16) for my 2001 F150 SC / XLT/ Std 4.2 and so far it's been a worthwhile investment. Do need some advice...have not been able to get a straight answer on a proper tire pressure for just overall driving - Mostly commute miles to work. Firestone indicated 32psi all the way around but was also told 36psi would be better for wear. Max psi is 50 (cold)Thanks
