How to fit 38" Parnelli's...?
I've always wanted to put 38x15.5" Parnelli radials on my truck. Does anyone know how much more lift i will need. I've heard someone say 4, and someone say 5. I'm guessing 4 would be adequate, but 5 would be optimal considering i've seen 39s squeezed under 7" of lift. I figure i'll need to drop about $1500 for new tires/rims, $1200 for the regear, and $2200 for the lift...sound about right?

I'd say You need WHIPLASH.
Thats a whiplash lift BTW |
I've seen a guy at work with a Rancho 4" plus 3" body easily fit 36x14.5 super swampers. For 38" I'd say you'd have to have at least a 5" RCD, plus like 1" torsion bar. That should squeeze them in there. You might have to get a new front bumper since that will be the first restriction. I'd say, get the lift, get the tires, see how they fit. If they still don't work. Get Fiberglass fenders. They give an additional 3" of clearence. That will definately do the job. Also, for the rear, get a shackle flip, that will eliminate the massive blocks and give you 4" of lift. Good luck

I think i'm probably gonna go 5 when i do, might as well, costs the same...i can actually fit 36x14.5 on my truck right now without rubbing...its damn close though- no play in the suspension hardly at all. But i could run em on the street. So i think 5 is the way i'm leaning...thanks for the help...

Hey, Let us know when you are done, I was thinking about trying it also. If I could get a set, I could try it, but I can't spend another 1200 bucks for tires. i am pretty sure they would fit, you can fit 33s with no lift so 38s with 8" of lift shouldn't be a problem. My truck with 35s makes the 35s look small. So in my opionion they should fit. ------------------ NEW TRUCK! 00 f150 ext. cab 4x4 ORP w/5.4/auto, black! hey BigBadRedLiftedFordMan,
what are you going to do with your 315/75r16 geolanders when you make the step up to the 38s... If you want to sell them i would love to have them.. oh how many miles do you have on them?? thanks J.D. |
There's a lot of stuff goin on right now that'll make or break project "Get 38s on Brandon's Truck". If i get the 38s on there, i'd be happy to sell the tires. Um...they have about i'd guess 6000 mi. or so, maybe not quite that many...maybe slightly more...right around 6000 anyways, virtually no wear.
