Pro Comp vs. BFG's
 

I have a 2003 F 250. I am about to take the dive and put a 4" Pro Comp lift on it with 35" tires. The only question I have is do Pro Comp tires compare to BFG's or should I stick with the old faithfuls? I like the way they look and have never heard a bad thing about them, but BF Goodrich has a long lasting reputation as being a durable tire. Any opinopns out there?:banana:

I gotta agree - plus I think they look more aggressive.

I always wondered about those Xterrains, but I love BFGs, don't know if I'd want to test them using my money.

i have 305/70 16 xterrains. i love them, mine a pretty new, but they are quiet on the highway and look KILLER. id highly recomend them.:beers:

Thanks for the feedback. The guys at the store convinced me to try the Pro Comp Xterrains. They said BFG has had problems of late with the balancing of the tires. They've had alot of returns...We'll see how things turn out.

What store did you go to? Hopefully it wasn't 4WheelParts. Not that I've had a bad experience with them, but they seem to be always pushing ProComp's stuff (not that that's good or bad).

I haven't had one hint of imbalance with my BFGs. Hopefully they didn't feed you a line of bull.

Nothing wrong with balancing BFG's. I've seen thousands of these tires balanced. If there is a problem balancing these tires it's a problem with the balancer or the person performing the service. The profit margin is better on ProComps.

4WheelParts was the place. Not impressed by a few guys there, but I think I finally found a guy that was on my side...If there is such a guy. Sure it took 3 days of haggling but I finally got the deal I wanted. We'll see what happens. I though the Xterrains looked pretty tough though so thats the main reason I went for it. BFG's have been too good for too long to fall apart now so I dont want to bad talk them.

Anybody have the Weld Cheyenne 8 wheels out there? Thought they looked good on a truck. I'll find out next Thursday.:)

I have the 305/70/16 Xterrians and I love them. I am on my 2nd set and they are the most quiet/aggressive tire I have seen. Everyone of my buddies who have them cannot say anything bad about them. :thumbsup:

I had 35 x 12.50 x 17 Pro-comps on my 2001 Dodge.
Loved them. No highway noise. Look great. Had 22,000 miles on them when I sold the truck and at least 15-20,000 miles left on them. Rotate rotate rotate, this is the key to long lasting tires
Pro-comps are my vote. I'm waiting for them to make some 18" sizes so I can get 33's on my 04 F150.
