Spare Tire
 

My 99 F-150 Came equipped with the General Aw's on all four corners, but my spare is a Goodyear! Did this happen to anyone else?

You're fortunate you didn't get a 5th General tire. They're horrible. I guess Ford figured they would torture you enough with 4 Generals so they threw in a different spare to save you from further grief. : )

Ok, I know you're serious. Your vehicle is suppose to come with 5 exact similar tires. Contact your dealer. Maybe someone else refused to accept their vehicle with Generals so the dealer swapped tires.

The 98 I had and my new F-150 have had 5 matching tires!

My early model 1997 ORP came with 4 - 17" on the ground and 1-16" spare! Can you believe that? I know there was a shortage of 17" wheels early on but that was crazy on Ford's part. I complained and the dealer said it was a factory build problem. Repeated calls to Fords "customer service" line said it was not a problem to mix the sizes!!! I asked if they would replace front and rear diffs and transfer box if they were wiped out while I drive around in 4x4 drive for days with wheel sizes mixed. They eventually issued a recall and replaced the 16" with a 17" wheel/tire.

My 2000 has 5 of the same size tire and they are all goodyear the only difference is the spare doesn't have the white outer edge letters.

Mine came with 5 General AW's 255/70/16 OWL, but the spare is a steel wheel not matching polished alum. I changed to the 275/60/17' off a EB Expedition. I prefer Michelin's, I can't wait to wear these POS's out.
