Angry Centerline Wheels

Just wanted to let evryone on here know a bit about Centerline wheels.I purchased a set of Centerline Prowlers back in late 1996 and had them sit under my bed while i waited for my truck to be built. So in early 1997 i had them mounted and installed on my truck well about 1-1/2 years ago one of the wheels broke at the weld that holds the wheels together. Centerline replaced it no problem which i thought was great but wanted all four replaced since i was worried about them breaking .Centerline told me no but if at any time in the future the others broke they would replace the remaining three. Well yesterday another one broke at the weld again so i called Centerline to get it tken care of but was told to bad so sad your warranty is up and unless you have it in writing that we said we would reppplace the other three you are out of luck. The reason i am posting this is out of anger yes but when a compnay tells you they will take care of you if the problem arisies again and then doesnt is not right in my book. It would not have cost them anything to send me 3 new wheels as they can write it off as we all are aware of.So anyone that is Considering purchasing Centerline wheels you might want to take this into consideration.

Thanks,
Richard D.

I too have had one set of Prowlers on my 1997, 98 and now 99 SC ORP. (during the summer). I thought one of them was out of round when I first got them in 1997. Centerline said they would test it if I sent it to them but it turned out to be a junk Goodyear tire and not the wheel. The 1997 side exhaust horribly pitted the right rear wheel and Centerline replaced it for free. They send me new bolts for the centercaps yearly when I email them. The bolts tend to rust. I love these wheels and spend two hours on each wheel every March polishing them. I first used Xtreem wheel polish but switched last year to Eagle One Billet Aluminum polish.

Angry Centerline Wheels

After I posted the first time i realized that this is not the first time I had a problem with my Centerline Wheels.Seems my memory is slipping a tad as i get older. Anyway The very first set of Centerline wheels i installed where also Prowlers but they where billet three piece wheels with the ring of rivets on them. That set of all 4 wheels broke after about 1-1-1/2 years after getting them at which time Centerline replaced all four with the Prowlers i currently have on my truck. So at this point i have gone thru 6 of the 8 wheels that are from Centerline not a good record in my book which i why i am haveing to know purchase a completly new and differant brand o wheels.Don't get me wrong I really liked my Cneterlines and have always wanted some on my vehicle but with breakage like this FORGET IT!!!!! If your tires start to look low in air pressure have the weld checked because that is what has gone bad on the recent two wheels the weld its4lf has broken, not sure what tire size you are running however i run a LT285/75/16 which Centerline assured me time and time agin was ok for these wheels .

I forgot to mention that I rarely "beat" my truck off road. I pretty much baby my Prowlers. I do wonder if I did some serious off roading with them, would the welds break? I have the Prowlers with the rivets. Its a pain to polish around those but with alot of perserverance I can get the rivets and the area immediately surrounding them pretty shiney.

I DO NOT beat my truck either ifact it is very pampered for a truck I do tow a 21Foot Wakeboard boat so that is about the most severe use it gets and then when i go Duck hunting i use it on muddy slightly pothole dirt roads. Other than that the truck is taken care of very well in fact i always get people asking what year it is and when i tell them the year they are amazed at how good it still looks .There is a picture of it on page 1 of the owners gallery Green F150SC Richard Dean. I have had to buy a new set of rims and have also added some more aftermarket stuff to my truck so when i get the new rims put on i will take a new picture and have Steve update my picture on the gallery

Centerlines

Hey iscrow150 once i get my new wheels installed i am going to try and sell the remaining two prowlers as i am keeping one of them for a spare that will be the same size as the tires and wheels i am running so maybe you want to think about that if you have your stock spare tire and wheel . You can't run a smaller tire on the same axle if you have larger tires. anyway just thought i would throw that out there to you.
