I just got my new truck, and it takes 5W-20 oil. I have used Mobil One for 20 years, but they do not make 5W-20 Synthetic.

So which companies make a good 5W-20 synthetic oil?

1) Mobil 1 no
2) Amsoil no
3) Penzoil no
4) Quaker State no

Someone has to make a 5W-20 synthetic

 

Royal Purple makes a Racing 11, Synthetic oil that is a 5W-20. I use thier 5W-30 and racing 41 in my bike.. not to mention gear lube and Max ATF in the tranny. Try it!! www.Royal Purple.com also available at Napa and through Jegs.

Don, Can't answer your oil question, just had to say Holy Crap!! that is a nice truck!

 

penzoil actually makes 5w20 oil. so does your ford dealer (motorcraft). i think mobil makes it.. only its called 'drive clean' and i think it's a synthetic 'blend'.

i'm using penzoil in mine until mobile's version is readily available.

 

So far I know of 3 companies offering 5w-20 oil: Motorcraft, Mobil, Pennzoil

Wallmart carries Motorcraft & Mobil.

Hopefully MobilOne will be making a 5-20 soon, I guess till then I will use conventional oil, or risk 5-30 MobilOne.

 

I will be using Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic. When Mobil makes a 5W20 full synthetic, I will switch to that. The 5W20 spec is realy only for emissions and fuel economy.
