That's the reason I bought my extended cab. When we found out my wife was pregnant, I had a Ranger 4x4 extended cab. No way to fit 2 adults and a baby seat. Baby seat works just fine both facing forward and backward in the F-150.

I would never let my little grandson ride in something that was not safe. He rides in a Century car seat behind the passenger seat strapped on the supercab seat. We also have a '98 Escort and I don't let him ride in it because in a crash there is not enough metal to protect him. He would never ride in a Cavalier for obvious reasons.

my boy is 3 and rides in the back. we have a century car seat as well and it is firmly held in place by the real selt belt.

i feel much safer with him in my truck than in my wife's 4 door honda (no knock there, honda cars are great).

i know it would not be as safe in a regular cab, but i do not think there are laws that prohibit people from putting children in the front seat. i also believe that the fords are sold with the option of turning off the airbag on the passenger side just for that purpose. i dont think they would put that option in the truck if it was ilegal to put a kid there in the first place.

Allow me to put it this way...I would be driving a Lightning if I did not NEED the room to put my 2 boys in. When we got my truck, the ages were 1 and 3, both of course in car seats and still are 2 and 4 years old now. Is it safe....absolutely!

One more thing...you better get rid of the Chevy Cavalier before she ends up pushing it WITH the baby in it because it breaks down.

Just my opinion!

In my opinion, oh wait, My Expy doesn't count. My 3 year old sits back there (you can actually see the Century seat from my sig ) in a vitual home theater watching Little Mermaid on a 13" screen while Mom leans the rear seat back lays back and falls asleep watching Little Mermaid.

Exclamation

I would sugest calling the local cops, here in Minnesota you must have them in the back seat up too a certain age. Also I believe infants may have to be in the front and always face them back ward in the seat.It has something to do with flying debre in an accident. My daughter is 5 and she loves riding in the back, she has her dolls and bears belted in next to her.
Hope this helps, Benny

My wife and I are fighting about purchasing an F150 extended cab. She wants to know if it is both legal and safe to place a baby in the rear of the extra cab F150's. I told her it would. I have a regular cab 150 ( my crusing truck) and it feels 100x safer than her crappy chevy cavalier. If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
