what's your opnion about amsoil, how does it work for you????

does any one out there use Amsoil? If so, how does it work for you? or just your opnion about it. Thanks!!!

I use it, I like it. I use there fuel injection system cleaner, i don't know if it works better than anybody elses though. I also use there gas stabilizer when i store my truck for the winter.

Doorslammer - don't know if you want to talk about on the boards or not, but how easy is it to make money as a dealer? Or did you become a dealer just for the wholesale prices?! Iam thinking of signing up as a dealer myself.

I love the Amsoil. The Series 2000 75W140 in the rear exceeds specs and has friction modifier. The Universal ATF works well for me with a full synthetic Mercon V. Superior product, fair price, and easy online store purchase.

I used it for a year. Saw no benefit in mpg's, power, cooling, or protection. Went back to Havoline 5w-30.

No doubt its a high quality oil (I use its 2-stroke racing oil for my MX bikes). But it was not cost effective for me.

AMSOIL works great for me. I've used it for 5 years with great results. I use Series 2000 0W-30 motor oil, ATF and 75W-90 gear lube in our '02 Expedition. I also use the Performance Improver (PI) fuel additive. Fuel mileage has increased about 1 to 1.5 MPG, idle is smoother and no clatter on start up. In the 4+ years we ran AMSOIL in our '95 Explorer, I calculated I saved about $400 in oil changes and fuel.

I use Amsoil 5W30 in my 2000 5.4 Supercab. I run 7500 miles per oil change and replace the filter at 3700 miles. I can't see a difference in fuel economy, engine temp or performance.........but any difference would be so minimal that nobody would notice it. I am banking on the difference being longer engine life because I keep a truck till it falls apart but if you are leasing or trading it in every 4-5 years synthetics are a waste of money.:eek: I have read on these forums that some owners use synthetic and then change the oil 1t 3000 mile intervals...........that makes me laugh at how people waste their money.:D

i still say that the primary benefit is superior lubrication on startup on very cold conditions. that's why i use it in the winter here in minnesota. it DOES make a difference compared to a dino oil of the same weight. in the summer, i go back to dino. i've done this for years in a variety of different vehicles and it works just fine. i'm using amsoil right now just to get the 5W-20 weight than mobil 1 doesn't offer. i personally think that mobil 1 works just fine.

It seems to work as advertised.

I believe that as far as THE TOTAL LUBRICATION AND FILTRATION ASPECT there are few equals and no superiors. It seems that no one has that figured out. If you follow what Amsoil recommends, you will save money, have a vehicle that will run more effeciently, with less wear and less waste oil to introduce into the environment. As well as reduce our dependence on Foreign Oil.

There might be better oils out there, but I am totally satisfied with what amsoil does for my vehicles.

??? never used the oil. But I did put Amsoil in the Tranny and Front and Rear diffs. Didn't notice any real difference. It's more like a psycological confidence factor type thing. When it's time to replace the fluids next time, I'll replace them with Amsoil again.

I don't use the stuff but from what I have read some say its great others say its over priced junk as for me i don't have an opinion on the stuff.

My tranny already has it and I just recieved my shipment of oil for 2 changes, filters and grease for my boat trailer wheels as well as a multipurpose grease. I think that's all I ordered this time. :D

Tried it once and overall wasn't impressed. No mileage gain or temp changes on the truck, and in the bike it broke down quicker than when I ran Mobil 1. Same in the truck.. the front main seal started to leak, but only after the oil had about 3K on it. When I changed it the same thing happened again.

I do feel that it probably lubricates better than dino oil, but you wouldn't ever see me going for the huge intervals they advertise. Then again if you keep changing it 20% at a time, dino oil will last longer too won't it?

In all fairness, it has been a while since my experience and they have a lot of new formulas. May give it another shot one of these changes.
