I have a 1999 F150 5.4L that keeps getting a 442 trouble code. The code is "Evaporative Emissions System Leak". the truck has 14,000 miles and is still under warranty. My dealer has replaced the "gas cap" (twice), the "canister vent solenoid", and most recently the "vapor management valve". After three trips to the dealer, it is going back on Monday for the fourth time!!!! I am getting fed up with the dealer tossing parts at the problem with no real idea how to fix it. Just wondered if anyone had some idea about what might be causing the problem.

Same problem with mine. Two gas caps and the vent solenoid and finally the evaporative canister itself took care of it.
