Stalls idle and wants to stall at about 40mph

I have pulleys in the truck from steeda, and I've heard that they sometimes cause the engines to stall when the headlights are on and the AC is on, however, my truck stalled on me today during the day. I only had the AC and radio on. It took a couple of tries before the engine turned back on. Also, after It turned back on, i was driving at a maintained 40 mph, and the truck felt as if it was trying to stall on me a couple of times in a row within a 5 second period. The truck felt like I was pressing the break, then letting go of the brake, then pressing it again.

My truck is a 1999 4.6L 5speed. Any suggestions?

Also, does anyone know where I can get an affordable diagnostic tool for it?

Thanks.

Maybe

a dirty or clogged fuel filter--should be changed every 15,000 miles--I think?

Btw, Miami, Florida is my home town--born and raised there many moons ago.

Hi Dissonance,

Changing the fuel filter every 15K miles is a good idea anyway, so by all means, do it.

If you have a Superchip or any other kind of performance chip, try pulling it and then reseating it.

Good luck!
