07 Expedition 5.4 Triton in a 98 F150 body?

I have a 98 F150 XL that had a working 4.2l V6. I have a 07 Expedition XLT with a 5.4l Triton. Can I use this “donor,” truck? Perfect case scenario would be, Can I put the engine, transmission and drive train(from the Expedition) in my 98 truck? Thanks.

Since I have the Expedition and all of its parts, my only charge is labor. I can’t afford a new/used truck. At $80/hr, I can get 75 hours of labor until I reach $6000.

You’re looking at changing the engine and transmission/driveshaft for sure

engine and transmission mounts
then the engine wiring and ECM
truck cab, dash and related wiring

so i’d venture to say you’re probably looking at 400 hours of labor minimum trying to slap a junk three valve into a worn out ‘98 body

Thank you

I didn’t realize all the changes that would need to be made.

Keep the 4.2, it will run forever if it's taken care of.

See if you can trade off the Expy for a rebuilt 4.2.
