07 5.4 King Ranch needs new engine/swap options

Just bought a 07 King Ranch off a good buddy of mine. About 220k on the body, from what he’s told me the engine locked up on him about a year ago and it’s sat since. I’m definitely going for a used engine as this will be a weekend truck and not a daily driver. What years F150 can I swap from, and is the expedition a good replacement option as well? I was going to grab a motor out a crashed expedition from a pull yard. I plan on changing the battery, whatever mounts and little things I catch that seem worn out in the process, along with the fluids and tires since it has sat for so long. Any good advice for this? I’m not mechanically inclined but I have several buddies who are and have offered to help. It’s worth mentioning I have access to everything from a lift to an engine hoist for the process.

Any 5.4 3 valve from a 2006 or newer F150, Expy, or Super Duty will be a fairly easy swap - the newer the better, preferably mid-2008 or newer with the improved head design. Too many issues with 2004 and 2005 engines. You may have to transfer some of your components.
