I just tried pulling out my VCT Solenoid. Popped the cap off, loosen the screw (to the point it actually came out) and tried pulling the solenoid and it won't budge! anyone had this issue before and what was the fix?

Motor is a 5.4 3v in an 05 expedition. THANKS!

 

Has no one had this problem before? I can even rotate the VCT about 270 degrees. It will move up about 1/2 an inch and then stop.

Ive watched every video he has on the VCT changing process. I guess ill try removing the valve cover to see if that gets me anywhere.

This is what I mean by “stuck”.

 

Part of the problem with the VCT failures is that the little screens fail. My guess is there are small parts keeping it from coming out...You may have to use some real force to pull it out and then clean up afterward.
