‘03 bellhousing bolt removal

Hey, just checking to see if there is a easier way to remove top bell housing bolts if truck is on the ground. I’m changing out 4.6L engine in my sons truck and it’s been 25 yrs since I did one. Have most everything removed form engine bay and this is one of the last things to be done. Have removed 3 bolts on drivers side and 2 on passenger side and now only top ones remain. Any help would be appreciated and thank you.
I did have someone advise dropping the crossmember and letting the tranny sag and possibly giving room to access the bolts. will this work?

When I dropped my transmission, I used about six feet of extensions to get at the top bolts from the back of the transmission.

Removing the cross-member will help. It will allow the transmission to sag down about an inch or two.
