98 Lincoln 4.6 to a 98 f150 swap?

Good Morning,

I have a line on a 98 Lincoln 4.6 that I would like to put In my 98 f150 4.6 Romeo. Will it work?

Looks like the 3rd time is a charm - you may have to use the truck manifolds but everything else should be compatible.

Thanks glc , just home with it. Too bad they do not make an adapter for the throttle body. I like how much lower profile the car intake is compared to the truck. What is involved in the oil filter relocate? The one in the truck is at the rear and the donor is in the front. Or will it fit in that location? Also, is there any way the Lincoln trnas

If needed, you can get an oil filter relocation kit. Summit Racing lists several, recommend you get one with 90 degree fittings instead of straight fittings. My son in law's 98 with the offroad package came with one, the filter is mounted right behind the front bumper with the filter pointing sideways.

Your reply was cut off - you want to use the Lincoln transmission? I think you can if your truck is 2wd and they are both 4R70W, but not positive about that.

That would be great if the transmission would work! I will check further into it. That sound good on the oil filter relocation too. I really appreciate all of the advice. I may bug you with a few more questions on down the line.

You need to inspect both transmissions to make sure they are identical. It will bolt up but there may be electrical and tailshaft differences.

Oil filter mount issue

I have ran into a little snag. I have finally gotten some time to start swapping parts to the donor. The issue is that the oil filter is in the wrong location. I thought that I would just buy a relocate kit but the oil filter mount and the coolant pipe are one piece. So I was going to pull the pipe off of the bad engine and use on the Lincoln engine. But on the old coolant pipe/oil filter mount has two bolts toward the rear of the engine one of which is shared with the motor mount. The Lincoln block does not have the second bolt hole on it. It only has the one for the motor mount. Clear as mud right?
